MIRROR, MIRROR on the wall, who’s got a really great idea for a story and the first draft is done but I might be aiming too high submitting to this anthology because these people are professionals and I have little actual experience but lots of work ethic and (I hope) talent?

I have an opportunity to submit a short story to Kevin J. Anderson’s third anthology produced with his grad students for Western Colorado University, titled MIRROR, MIRROR. I may be getting bigger than my britches here, but when I was a kid my dad had a shirt that said, “If you can’t run with the big dogs, stay under the porch.” I think about that a lot when I’m looking for courage. Mr. Anderson announced it July 28, the muse grabbed me, and today I finished a first draft that I’m pretty happy with. Time to let it marinate before edits.
