I\u2019ve published three books with my writing group, and it\u2019s high time I did one on my own. It\u2019s a first effort, which in the writing world can be somewhat like the first pancake, but it\u2019s my learning novel. I\u2019ve come a long away since I started with a couple of short stories and decided to link them, along with a handful of others, into a longer narrative. I\u2019ve rewritten a couple of them completely, from the ground up, thanks to what I\u2019ve learned on my journey. The manuscript went to the editor last night, and I\u2019m already musing changes. And that was the real struggle, if I\u2019m being honest. I had to make myself stop fiddling with it, tweaking sentences and moving scenes, and give it to someone that can look at it with fresh, objective eyes. It\u2019s probably going to be painful. We will see. I just hope that my first effort, at the very least, will showcase my potential.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
